After working in a variety of settings, I returned to school in my middle years to add a counseling career because I noticed from my work with offenders at state institutions that when many of them got to a tough spot in their lives, they took a wrong turn. Needing information and lacking knowledge, they just didn’t know how to deal with the curves life had thrown them.
Since then, I have worked with clients from 12 to 72, male, female, straight, and gay. We have addressed a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, cutting, suicidal thoughts, identity issues, relationship difficulties, workplace issues, grief, retirement transitions, blended family issues, and end-of-life issues.
I love helping people find the emotional drivers behind their unexplained pain. We work together to see what factors are driving their pain, and then they have the chance to move beyond it. I help people recognize their strengths and maximize their potential toward their goals.
I also delight in helping people who feel like something is holding them back. They would love to be able to take that test, make a presentation, fly, or sing up front–without freezing up and feeling sheer panic. Let me help you discover what is behind those fears that are keeping you stuck. You can move ahead to the life you dream of!
